Question:

How do I update and manage my EMS certifications on the NAR-T LMS?

(Last edited: Monday, November 04, 2024, 12:57 PM)
Answer:

How do I update and manage my EMS certifications on the NAR-T LMS?

Answer: Keeping your EMS certifications up-to-date in the LMS is essential for meeting accrediting body requirements. Here’s how to add and manage your certifications:

  1. Enter Your Certification Details:

    • In the “Certifications” section of your profile, add each certification you currently hold, such as EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, ACLS, or FP-C. Be sure to include the certification number and expiration date for each entry.
  2. Double-Check Expiration Dates:

    • Accurate expiration dates are necessary for receiving course completion credits. Double-check each date to prevent issues with credit or accreditation.
  3. Ensure Completeness:

    • Make sure all fields are filled out accurately. North American Rescue Training cannot report course completion to accrediting bodies without complete and accurate certification information. It’s your responsibility to provide the correct details.

By following these steps, you’ll help ensure smooth reporting of your training credits to accrediting organizations.

Question:

JBL EMT and AEMT Course Troubleshooting FAQ

(Last edited: Wednesday, March 11, 2026, 6:13 AM)
Answer:

NAR LMS Student Support Guide

If your Jones & Bartlett EMT or AEMT course is not loading correctly, or if a knowledge check, quiz, or activity is missing, use the steps below before contacting support.

Common signs of a loading issue

You may be having a browser or device issue if:

  • a knowledge check does not appear

  • an activity will not load

  • part of the lesson is missing

  • a page freezes or stops moving forward

  • buttons or interactive content do not work

Why this happens

Most of the time, this is caused by a browser or device issue, not the course itself. Common causes include:

  • outdated device software

  • outdated browser software

  • stored browser cookies or cache

  • browser extensions or plug-ins interfering with course content

Some extensions, especially Grammarly, can interrupt how JBL course content loads. Extensions add extra code to webpages. That extra code can interfere with interactive content and may prevent knowledge checks or activities from appearing correctly.

Step 1: Update Your Device and Browser

Make sure your computer, tablet, or phone is fully updated before using the course.

Please check:

  • your device operating system

  • your internet browser

  • any pending software updates

Using the latest version helps the JBL course load correctly.

Step 2: Clear Your Browser History and Cookies

Old browser data can prevent pages from loading the right way.

In Google Chrome
  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Click the three dots in the top right corner.

  3. Click History.

  4. Click Clear browsing data.

  5. Set the time range to All time.

  6. Check Cookies and other site data.

  7. Check Cached images and files.

  8. Click Clear data.

After this, fully close Chrome and reopen it.

Step 3: Restart Your Device

Restart your computer or device after clearing your browser data.

This helps:

  • refresh system settings

  • close background programs

  • clear temporary issues that may affect course performance

Once your device restarts, log back into the NAR LMS and try the course again.

Step 4: Turn Off Browser Extensions or Plug-Ins

Browser extensions can block or interrupt JBL course content.

This is especially common with:

  • Grammarly

  • ad blockers

  • password managers

  • privacy extensions

  • writing tools

Important

If you use Grammarly, turn it off before opening your JBL course. Grammarly can interfere with interactive lesson content and may prevent knowledge checks or activities from loading all the way.

Step 5: Use Chrome Incognito Mode

If you are not sure which extension is causing the issue, open the NAR LMS in Incognito Mode.

Incognito Mode is helpful because most extensions do not run there.

How to open Incognito Mode in Chrome
  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Click the three dots in the top right corner.

  3. Click New Incognito Window.

  4. A new dark browser window will open.

  5. Log into the NAR LMS in that window.

  6. Open your JBL EMT or AEMT course again.

If the course works in Incognito Mode, a browser extension is likely the cause.

Step 6: Return to the Course and Test the Activity Again

After completing the steps above:

  1. Log back into the NAR LMS.

  2. Open your JBL course.

  3. Return to the lesson or activity.

  4. Check whether the missing knowledge check or activity now appears.

Quick Troubleshooting Checklist

Before contacting support, make sure you have completed all of the following:

  • updated your device

  • updated your browser

  • cleared your browser history and cookies

  • restarted your device

  • disabled browser extensions

  • tried Chrome Incognito Mode

Still Need Help?

If the problem is still not fixed, please contact Student Support and include:

  • your full name

  • your course name

  • the lesson or activity name

  • a short description of the issue

  • a screenshot, if possible

  • the troubleshooting steps you already completed

Providing this information helps us solve the problem faster.

Support Reminder

Many JBL course issues are caused by browser extensions, especially Grammarly. If part of your course is missing, this should be one of the first things you check.

If you want, I can also format this into a cleaner Moodle HTML block that you can copy and paste directly into your LMS.
