Answer: The Hybrid Initial EMT Course includes both online modules and an in-person skills week. To sign up:

• Go to the NAR Training website.
• Choose the Initial EMT Course.
• Complete the registration form and payment. Once registered, you will receive instructions on how to begin the online modules and schedule your skills week.

The AEMT Skills Week includes four days of intensive hands-on skills practice, one day of psychomotor skills testing administered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), and two days of clinical rotations with local Fire Departments or Ambulance companies. This immersive experience is designed to refine your skills and prepare you for real-world emergency medical services (EMS) situations.

Answer: The course includes 13 hours of online learning through a computer-based training (CBT) module and 46 hours of in-person training at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center. The in-person training spans five days and includes practical field exercises, live scenarios in rubble and collapse environments, a nighttime exercise, and instruction on specialized rescue techniques and emergency care for search canines.

Answer: Participants must bring specific personal protective equipment (PPE) including a US&R type helmet, eye protection, ear plugs, work/safety toe boots, work gloves, knee pads, and cold weather gear. They should also bring standard work duty clothing, a flashlight, stethoscope, and trauma shears. During the course, participants are required to wear their Task Force or Department uniform.

Answer: If you fail your NREMT psychomotor exam, don’t worry. North American Rescue offers in-person Psychomotor Exam Courses for both EMTs and AEMTs to help you retake and pass the exam. These courses are available in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Greer, SC.

Answer: The Paramedic NCCP Refresher Course is a 62-hour program that covers the topics required by the National Continued Competency Program. It includes interactive online modules, practical case studies, and assessments. The course is CAPCE-accredited and fulfills your recertification requirements.

Answer: The cost of the Urban Search and Rescue Medical Team Specialist Course is $4,200 per student. This fee includes lodging, meals, and daily transportation within the training center. Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center. Please note that space is limited, and early registration is recommended.
