We are excited to welcome you to the Initial NREMT AEMT Skills Week In-Person Course offered by North American Rescue Training and Education (NAR-T). This comprehensive, 6-day hands-on training program, scheduled for October 21-24, 2024, will provide you with the essential skills and practical experience needed to excel as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT). This course includes 4 days of intensive skills training and psychomotor testing and 2 clinical ride-along days, providing a well-rounded approach to mastering the required AEMT competencies.
Overview
The In-Person AEMT Skills Week is offered by North American Rescue Training and Education (NAR-T)! This crucial hands-on training week is an integral part of our comprehensive Advanced EMT (AEMT) training program, designed to provide you with the practical skills and confidence needed to excel in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Held at our Las Vegas, Nevada facility, this 4-day intensive course is designed to be completed after the online modules, offering you the opportunity to apply your advanced knowledge in real-world scenarios.Course Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:

- Master Advanced EMT psychomotor skills through hands-on practice.
- Prepare for and pass the National Registry AEMT psychomotor examination.
- Gain real-world experience through clinical rotations with local Fire Departments or Ambulance companies.
- Meet the practical requirements for Advanced EMT certification and state licensure.
Course Structure
The In-Person AEMT Skills Week is divided into intensive classroom and clinical components:
In-Person Skills Training:
- 4 Days of Hands-On Skills Practice: Intensive classroom sessions focused on advanced EMT skills.
- 1 Day of Psychomotor Skills Testing: Administered by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
- 2 Days of Clinical Rotations: Two 12-hour observational ride-alongs with local Fire Departments or Ambulance companies, offering practical, real-world EMS experience.
Location:
- Held at the NAR Training facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, or Greer, South Carolina.
- Las Vegas courses are offered every other month, excluding December. South Carolina courses are offered once per quarter
Pre-Requisites:
To enroll in the In-Person AEMT Skills Week, you must have completed the following:
- Basic Life Saver / CPR Certification.
- NREMT or State EMT Certification.
- 100% completion of the online AEMT modules.
Required Documentation:
Prior to attending the In-Person Skills Week, you will need to upload the following:
- Course Enrollment Agreement
- High School Diploma or GED
- Identification (Driver's License, Military ID, Passport)
- Creation of your NREMT AEMT Profile
Included with Tuition:
The course tuition fee includes:
- Access to all course materials via the NAR Training LMS.
- Participation in the hands-on skills week.
- Two 12-hour clinical ride-alongs.
- National Registry AEMT psychomotor skills test.
Please note: The tuition fee must be paid in full to attend the skills week. Travel expenses to the NAR Training Center are not covered. No additional requirements for drug tests, background checks, immunization records, or uniforms—just wear closed-toed shoes for in-person sessions.
Learning Activities:
- Hands-On Skills Practice: Intensive training sessions to refine your advanced EMT skills.
- Psychomotor Skills Testing: Assessment to ensure readiness for real-world EMS challenges.
- Clinical Rotations: Observational ride-alongs providing valuable field experience.
Course Completion Requirements:
- Maintain an 80% total course average in the online portion.
- Pass the midterm and final exams with a 75% or higher.
- Complete all online modules or the didactic portion of your AEMT training before attending the in-person skills week.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the AEMT Skills Week and passing the psychomotor examination, you will be eligible to proceed with the National Registry AEMT (NREMT) certification process.
Recognition
NAR Training is recognized by both the Southern Nevada Health District's Department of Emergency Medical Services and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
