Overview
Welcome to the Initial AEMT Hybrid Course offered by North American Rescue Training and Education (NAR-T)! This comprehensive Advanced EMT training program is designed to provide both the flexibility of online learning and the critical hands-on skills needed to excel in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The course is structured to be completed in as little as 90 days, with a total of 241.5 hours of education, including skills labs, testing, and clinical rotations, all of which must be completed within one year.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Complete the didactic and practical requirements for Advanced EMT certification.
- Prepare for and pass the National Registry AEMT written and psychomotor exams.
- Apply advanced EMS skills in real-world scenarios through hands-on practice and clinical rotations.
- Meet the educational requirements for state licensure as an Advanced EMT (check local EMS Office requirements).
Course Structure
This hybrid course is divided into two main components: online learning and in-person skills training.
Online Learning:
- Accessible 24/7 via the NAR Training LMS.
- Complete online modules at your own pace using your desktop, laptop, smartphone, or tablet.
- Includes 241.5 hours of education, featuring:
- Downloadable electronic textbook
- Study center and assessments
- 10 virtual simulation scenarios
- Test prep tools for the National Registry cognitive exam
In-Person Skills Training at either:
Greer, SC
- 5-Day hands on skills portion, scheduled every quarter.
- 3 days classroom hands-on skills practice and scenarios.
- 1 day of built in for ride-along with local agency scheduled by NART.
- 1 day of AEMT psychomotor skills testing.
Las Vegas, NV
- 4-Day hands on skills portion, scheduled every even month and July.
- 3 days classrooms hands-on skills practice and scenarios.
- 1 day of AEMT psychomotor skills testing.
- Ride-alongs scheduled by NART, would be an additional 2 days outside of the 4-day skills portion. (could be before or after skills week)
Prerequisites
- Basic Life Saver / CPR Certification. (Must remain active during duration of course)
- NREMT or State EMT Certification.
Required Documentation
Following enrollment into the course, you will need to upload the following documentation:
- Course Enrollment Agreement
- Identification (Driver's License, Military ID, Passport)
- Basic Life Saver / CPR Certification (Must remain active during duration of course)
- NREMT or State EMT Certification
Tuition Fee
The course tuition fee includes:
- Access to the NAR Training LMS and all course materials
- Hands-on Skills Week
- NART-scheduled clinical ride-alongs in Las Vegas, NV or Greer, SC (background check included in course cost)
- AEMT psychomotor skills test
Please note that the tuition fee must be paid in full before gaining access to the course. Travel expenses to the NAR Training Centers for Skills Week are not covered. For ride-alongs scheduled by NART, students must submit proof of MMR immunizations, a recent TB test, Hepatitis B immunization or a signed declination, and a physical exam.
The only requirement for in-person Skills Week sessions is wearing closed-toed shoes.

- Hands-On Skills Practice: In-person training sessions for applying learned skills.
- Clinical Rotations: Real-world experience through observational ride-alongs.
Course Completion Requirements
- Maintain an 80% total course average to graduate from the online portion.
- Pass the midterm and final exams with a 75% or higher.
- Complete the online portion 100% before attending the hands-on skills week.
- Completion of two 12-hour clinical ride-alongs
