Course Description
The North American Rescue Critical Care & Flight Paramedic Course is a three-day, in-person FP-C® and CCP-C® exam preparation and certification refresher course for flight, critical care, and advanced paramedics. The course reviews the core clinical topics found in the IBSC exam blueprint, including airway management, mechanical ventilation, hemodynamics, shock, trauma, pharmacology, flight physiology, and transport medicine. It is approved for 32 CAPCE continuing education hours and includes the IBSC-approved 16-hour FP-C®/CCP-C® review course requirement for currently certified clinicians.
Course Objectives
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Differentiate ventilation from oxygenation and explain why both are essential to patient care.
- Recognize common respiratory abnormalities that affect airway management, ventilation, and oxygenation.
- Describe and apply basic airway management techniques, including patient positioning, manual airway maneuvers, suction, ventilation, and basic airway adjuncts.
