      North American Rescue Training and Education (NAR-T) presents the Hybrid Initial EMT Course, a flexible and comprehensive training program designed to help you begin or continue your career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS).       The EMT Flipped Classroom Model uses curated content from market-leading resources along with student-directed activities like problem-solving exercises and peer-to-peer coaching, delivering an engaging and effective learning experience.

      Course Objectives:

      Upon completing the Hybrid EMT course, you will be able to:

      • Fulfill the didactic requirements for NREMT Initial Certification.
      • Prepare for the NREMT EMT Basic Exam.

      Course Structure:

      The Hybrid EMT Course is divided into online learning and an in-person skills training week.

      Online Learning:

    • EMT students must be high school graduates, 18 years old, and able to read and write in English. They must provide one of the following: high school diploma, GED, college transcript/diploma, or DD Form 214.

      After we receive your enrollment documents and payment, you will receive an email with your personal course codes to access the JBLearning Online Modules through the NAR Training website. Once you have access, you can proceed with the easy, self-paced training and complete your quizzes and tests as you progress. Upon finishing the course and passing the written exam, you will become a Nationally Registered EMT. If you need a state license other than NV or SC, please contact your local health district for information on reciprocity applications. As a distance learning training school, we don't require students to purchase uniforms. The dress code for Skills Week is casual with closed-toe shoes. During the clinical ride-along, students must wear navy or black pants, a navy or black polo, and closed-toe shoes (steel-toe boots are preferable).

      Skills labs and testing are scheduled once a month on a Monday through Thursday at both our Las Vegas, NV & Greer, SC training centers. Please note that your tuition for the class does not cover travel expenses to the training sites. It is your responsibility to make your own transportation and travel arrangements for the skills portion of the class. On the skills days, you will receive your BLS card (Basic Life Support). Our instructors will spend these days working with you to help you learn the necessary hands-on skills to succeed as an EMT.

      After completing the online training, students must also complete a 12-hour ride along with our local fire department, ambulance company, or emergency room. You can schedule this through our registration manager. If you are not in the Las Vegas, NV, or Greer, SC, area, you can arrange your ride-along with a similar facility near you. It is your responsibility to contact and schedule with the facility of your choice. You will need to print the provided ride along forms and take them with you on the day, where they will be completed by the supervisor. During the clinical ride-along, students must wear navy or black pants, a navy or black polo, and closed-toe shoes (steel-toe boots are preferable).

      After completing your online course, attending skills week, participating in your ride-along, and submitting all required paperwork to the registration manager, your next step is to schedule your National Registry EMT written exam at a third-party testing facility. To do this, you will need to schedule your exam through the Pearson Vue website at https://home.pearsonvue.com. They have testing facilities worldwide, so you can find a location nearest to you, or you can take the exam from the comfort of your home. 

      We do not offer payment plans for significant reasons. The course is designed for self-paced distance learning and can be completed in a "boot camp style" in as little as 30 days. Full payment is a prerequisite for accessing the course modules.

      The course tuition fee of $1,950.00 includes an electronic textbook, which can be downloaded to a smartphone or iPad using the Navigate eReader app. It also includes online access, study center, assessments, test prep tools for practicing for the National Registry cognitive exam, and your skills week/Psychomotor skills test. This must be paid in full to gain access to your course. However, the tuition does not cover any expenses related to traveling to the skills lab locations.

      As a distance learning training school, we don't require students to purchase uniforms. The dress code for Skills Week is casual with closed-toe shoes.       Currently, North American Rescue Education & Training does not accept financial aid.

      A drug screen is not required at the time of enrollment into the Initial EMT Hybrid Course offered by North American Rescue Training and Education (NAR-T). However, before participating in the EMT Skills Week portion of the course, you must submit a negative result from a 10-panel drug screen.

      The 10-panel drug screen must test for the following substances:

      1. Amphetamines
      2. Barbiturates
      3. Benzodiazepines
      4. Cocaine metabolites
      5. Marijuana metabolites
      6. Methadone
      7. Methaqualone
      8. Opiates
      9. Phencyclidine (PCP)
      10. Propoxyphene

      This requirement ensures that all students meet the same standards as hospital employees and are prepared for the hands-on clinical training components of the course.       Upon starting the EMT Skills Week Course after completing the Initial EMT Online Modules, you must provide evidence of the following immunizations or equivalent documentation: This is not required at the time of enrollment

      • Tuberculosis (TB):

        • Option 1: A two-step TB skin test (TST) for students with no history of a positive TST who have not been tested in the last 12 months.
        • Option 2: A one-step TST test for students with proof of a negative TST within the last 12 months.
        • Option 3: A negative chest radiograph for students with a history of a positive TST.
        • Option 4: Negative blood test results.

      • Rubella:

        • Documented receipt of one vaccination after your first birthday, or
        • History of the disease, or
        • Born before 1957, or
        • Serological evidence of immunity, or
        • Statement of refusal.
      • Rubeola (Measles):
        • Documented receipt of two vaccinations on or after your first birthday, or
        • History of the disease, or
        • Born before 1957, or
        • Serological evidence of immunity, or
        • Statement of refusal.

      • Chickenpox (Varicella):

        • Documented receipt of the vaccination, or
        • History of the disease, or
        • Serological evidence of immunity, or
        • Statement of refusal.

      • Hepatitis B:

        • Documented completion of the vaccine series (three doses), or
        • Serological evidence of immunity, or
        • Statement of refusal.

      • Tetanus and Diphtheria:

        • Documented inoculation within the last ten years.

      Yes, North American Rescue Training and Education (NAR-T) is an approved training vendor for both the ARMY IGNITE and AF COOL programs. Our Initial EMT Hybrid Course qualifies for military assistance, making it easier for service members to pursue their Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training and certification.

      The ARMY IGNITE program provides financial assistance to active duty, National Guard, and Reserve Soldiers, while the AF COOL (Air Force Credentialing Opportunities On-Line) program offers similar support to active duty and reserve members of the Air Force.
